Hi!
I am a morning anchor at the ABC affiliate in Champaign, Illinois. I moved here about a year ago from beautiful Idaho Falls, Idaho. I was a multi-tasker when I lived out West. I worked at KIFI-TV and while I was there I did everything from weather in the mornings to anchoring the weekend news. I also produced shows, was a one man band reporter, and worked at the local newspaper as a multi-media journalist.
But now I'm enjoying my time, closer to home and in the flatlands of Illinois. Although, I have come to realize I have to root for the Illini now that I live in the C-U, but I will always be an Eastern Illinois University fan at heart. I love my job at ABC Newschannel 15, anchoring the morning news and goofing around with our early bird, morning weather expert, Matt Brickman. We have a marathon two hour morning show from 5 a.m. -7 a.m., so if you're up early check us out! If you need extra z's, just stop by for our Midday show at 11 a.m.

About Me
Imagine wearing a nametag to Christmas dinner. Well, when your dad is one of thirteen children and you have seventy cousins, it's a must.
But it taught me to take notes, both on paper and in my mind, and that my story had to be the best. When you're fighting for the treasured attention of your grandma, you’d better make it interesting! Situations like that dictate that you get your facts straight.
I approach my career in much the same way. As a reporter I've learned to sort through information and bring the important facts to the viewer. Being around a lot of people at a young age taught me to network sources; an essential skill when your beat is more than an hour away. The distance helped me build time management skills and gain the focus to produce results under pressure.
I'm proud that some of my stories have made the world a better place, including one on a teen-drinking epidemic in Jackson, Wyoming, and the toothless laws that fostered it. Also, my investigation into the American Disabilities Act forced local businesses to fix curb cuts and railroad crossings to provide equal access for the disabled.
As an anchor and reporter who also produces, I completely understand what goes into a newscast and how my position will help execute a flawless show. When I solo-anchored three start-up weekend newscasts, my shows earned an additional ratings point each week. Now, all five of our weekend newscasts are rated #1, receiving two and three times the ratings of our competitors. I run the newsroom on my own, so multi-tasking is second nature.
But I'm young and still have a lot to learn, so I'm looking for a mentoring environment that will challenge me while helping to develop my skills. I would welcome the chance to talk with you about any opportunities at your station and look forward to hearing from you.
